I.Q testing is done preferably in a single sitting. Both verbal and performance test are carried out on various scales and batteries depending upon the I.Q or intelligence of the person is classified as follows:-

• Child Prodigy - I.Q > 160

• Genius - I.Q > 130

• Intelligent - I.Q > 110

• Average - I.Q > 80

• Borderline - I.Q 70 to 80

• Mild mental retardation - I.Q 55 to 70

• Moderate - I.Q 40 to 55

• Severe - I.Q 25 to 40

• Profound or idiot - less than 25
